Terrion to complete fifth cell tower in Comox Valley in 2026

A new cell tower is expected to be finished in Courtenay this year. This will be the fifth Terrion wireless infrastructure project in the Comox Valley aimed at balancing network improvements across rural, residential and urban areas in the Valley. The towers will offer wireless coverage and capacity to many areas, including Little River, Comox and a large portion of Courtenay. The new tower will be at the City of Courtenay’s municipal works yard. Terrion says it will deliver major service improvements throughout the centre of the community, West Courtenay, and Puntledge Park. A completion date is not available yet, but Terrion expects it to be complete by the end of the year.

Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells says reliable connectivity is essential for residents, businesses, and emergency services in the Comox Valley. “Council supported this project following the required consultation process because it helps address long-standing service gaps in parts of our community and strengthens the infrastructure needed for economic development and daily life in Courtenay,” said Wells. The four other projects include a tower at 2981 Moray Ave and another tower at 1388 Ellenor Rd, and two two rooftop installations at 2202 Murrelet Dr. and 801 Ryan Rd.
